With reference to the order of the Health Minister, Roberto Speranza, dated 12 August 2020, Aeroporti di Roma reminds passengers that, for the time being, those arriving from Croatia, Greece, Malta and Spain who do not have a certificate for an eligible test performed within 72 hours prior entering Italy, with a negative result, will be able to undergo the test at the reference local health authority within 48 hours of entering Italy: in this regard, please refer to the general instructions of the Lazio Region COVID-19 Crisis Unit, providing a list of operational drive-in centres.

Aeroporti di Roma also informs passengers that dedicated areas have been set up at Fiumicino and Ciampino airports which can be used to administer Covid-19 tests to passengers under the order. The facilities were built in less than 24 hours after the signing of the order, thanks to the coordination carried out in recent days with the Lazio Region and the Ministry of Health. At “Leonardo Da Vinci”, at Terminal 3 arrivals, after exiting the baggage reclaim hall in an area measuring approximately 1,000 square metres, 12 reserved boxes have been set up, which can be extended to up to a maximum of 20, where doctors from the USMAF/ASL will shortly be able to operate in full respect of privacy. The new area will be able to accommodate up to 480 passengers simultaneously, in full compliance with the safety distancing rules. An adequate number of seats is also provided for comfortably awaiting the results of the test.

At “G.B. Pastine”, Ciampino, at the arrivals Terminal, there are 3 boxes over a surface area measuring approximately 150 square metres.

At both airports, information signs in both Italian and English have also been built and installed to inform passengers arriving from Croatia, Greece, Malta and Spain of the new government regulations.

Aeroporti di Roma also reminds passengers that, according to government regulations, entry into the airport terminals – following a body temperature check using thermal scanners – is only permitted to passengers and airport operators and that everyone must wear a protective face covering in the terminals and maintain a distance of at least one metre away from other people. The new measures are in addition to all other initiatives taken by ADR to make the airport safe and comfortable:  from the sanitising of the entire airport perimeter, to the rearrangement of the spaces inside the airport to ensure social distancing, which is indicated by new signs. The information on the service monitors has also been increased, information signs have been added and over 300 sanitising gel dispensers have been installed.
